Kevin Blodgett

Kevin Blodgett brings over 25 years of diverse legal and business experience to Werner Ayers & McDonald LLP. As a trusted advisor and former corporate executive, Kevin has a proven track record of guiding businesses at all stages of growth through complex legal and operational challenges with a focus on achieving strategic goals.

Kevin previously served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Chief Administrative Officer of Dynegy Inc., where he led all legal, regulatory, compliance, and administrative functions for the publicly traded energy company. During his more than a decade at Dynegy, he managed SEC compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, human resources, and served as Corporate Secretary, overseeing all Board of Directors matters.

Kevin’s career also includes leadership roles in private equity-backed companies and entrepreneurial ventures. As Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Rockwater Energy Solutions (now Select Water Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: WTTR)), he directed all legal and compliance functions. Additionally, Kevin led Morae Global Corporation’s Legal Consulting Division, delivering operational and cost-savings solutions to Fortune 200 legal and compliance departments around the world.

Earlier in his career, Kevin gained invaluable experience as a corporate associate at Baker Botts LLP, focusing on securities, corporate governance, and M&A. His entrepreneurial spirit later drove him to successfully own and operate several franchise businesses. This experience, combined with his experience as a business broker at one of the world’s leading business brokerage firms, has given him a unique perspective on the legal and operational needs of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Kevin earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Houston Law Review. He received his B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Management, from Texas A&M University. He has been honored with numerous industry accolades, including Best General Counsel and Associate General Counsel recognition by the Texas General Counsel Forum and the Houston Business Journal.
