Julia Wright

Julia Wright is a trusted executive advisor and accomplished attorney with deep experience helping energy services companies navigate transformational moments. She brings a rare combination of boardroom credibility, operational insight, and hands-on leadership gained from building and leading legal and compliance functions through every stage of growth—from newly public companies to strategic exits. She also serves as Chair of Hephae Energy Technology, a private startup developing high-temperature electronics for geothermal applications.

Before joining Werner Ayers & McDonald LLP, Julia served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary of ChampionX Corporation (Nasdaq: CHX). In that role, she played an instrumental part in taking the company public in 2018 as a spin-off from Dover Corporation (then named Apergy Corporation, NYSE: APY), led the acquisition and integration of Ecolab’s Chemicals business in 2020, and was a key contributor to the sale of ChampionX to SLB, which closed in 2025.

Earlier in her career, Julia served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Nabors Industries (NYSE: NBR), where she began her in-house career in 2005 and advanced through roles of increasing responsibility. Her experience spans the full lifecycle of energy operations—including drilling, workover, completions, artificial lift, and chemicals—with onshore and offshore operations in the U.S. and internationally. This background enables Julia to deliver practical, business-focused guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and mergers and acquisitions.

At Werner Ayers & McDonald LLP, Julia advises energy and natural resources clients across a broad range of legal and business matters. She is available to serve as outside general counsel, supporting companies on corporate governance, M&A, joint ventures, global operations, contract negotiation, enterprise risk management, and complex compliance challenges. Julia is particularly sought after for guiding boards and management teams through high-stakes situations, including IPO readiness, activist investor matters, SEC reporting issues, and board formation and director onboarding.

Julia holds a Juris Doctor from Fordham Law School, a Master of Arts from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University. In 2025, she was named General Counsel of the Year for Mid-Sized Legal Departments by The Texas Lawbook and the Association of Corporate Counsel, recognizing her impact as both a legal leader and strategic business partner.

The New York Stock Exchange welcomes Apergy Corporation (NYSE: APY) in celebration of the listing as a new public company.
