Robin K. Taylor is Of Counsel at Werner Ayers & McDonald LLP and brings more than 25 years of experience advising clients and trial teams in complex litigation, dispute strategy, risk management, and alternative dispute resolution. Her practice is distinguished by a deep focus on trial strategy, jury dynamics, witness preparation, and pre-trial decision-making, informed by extensive first-chair litigation and in-house experience.
Robin works closely with WAM attorneys and clients on jury consulting, mock trials, focus groups, voir dire strategy, and witness preparation in complex commercial and civil matters. She helps trial teams evaluate case themes, assess litigation risk, and develop persuasive narratives for mediation, arbitration, and trial. Clients value her practical judgment, strategic insight, and ability to translate complex legal and factual issues into clear, compelling presentations.
In addition to her current role, Robin’s background includes senior positions in private practice, in-house litigation management, public-sector legal service, and financial services. She previously served as Assistant General Counsel for the Texas A&M University System, where she advised system institutions and agencies on employment and labor matters, tort and negligence claims, administrative proceedings, contract disputes, and arbitration, including matters involving state and federal regulatory frameworks.
Earlier in her career, Robin served as Senior Trial Attorney for AIG, managing complex, high-exposure litigation in state and federal courts and overseeing litigation strategy, budgeting, and compliance with best practices. She has also maintained a robust litigation practice in private firms, handling matters involving business disputes, insurance and coverage issues, professional liability, construction, energy-related claims, catastrophic loss, wrongful death, and survival actions.
Robin also brings significant experience from the banking and wealth management sector, having served in executive roles with regional financial institutions where she advised clients on credit, lending, trust administration, and risk management. This background enhances her ability to counsel clients on litigation strategy with a clear understanding of financial, operational, and reputational considerations.
Robin earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from Sewanee: The University of the South. She is admitted to practice in Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She is known for her strategic judgment, practical problem-solving, and effective communication with clients, witnesses, and decision-makers, and she plays a key role on WAM’s trial teams in high-stakes matters.
